FAKTR (pronounced FACTOR) is a soft tissue technique used to improve function. FAKTR can treat both acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions as well as many post-surgical conditions. Examples of musculoskeletal conditions that may benefit from FAKTR includes sports injuries, ligament sprains, muscle strains, fascial restrictions (plantar fasciitis, ITB syndrome, etc.), myofascial pain syndromes, adhesive capsulitis, and shin splints. Post-surgical patients can benefit from scar tissue mobilization and reduction.
FAKTR is an instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization technique that incorporates functional motion and treatment of the kinetic chain while various forms of rehab techniques are used at the same time. FAKTR treatments are often performed in the position of provocation: pain, loss of range of motion, tightness in the muscle, soft tissue or fascial levels. The treatments can be progressed to include motion, and resistance to work on deeper levels. The goal of FAKTR treatments is to quickly reduce the soft tissue limitations, allowing Athletes to return to their sports faster. It will also allow patients to quickly regain their prior levels of motion and function prior to their injury or surgery.
